After almost three years of reading ebooks on my laptop (and more recently on my iphone...yeah, the font's really tiny on it), I finally splurged and got an ebook reader yesterday. And I am totally lovin' on my new nook. *g*
It's so pretty and shiny and bee-u-tif-ful, and Nookie loves to be stroked and fondled and petted. Fitting since his name is Nookie (yes, he's a boy, a very pretty boy as a matter of fact), and 'nookie' is just one of the many terms hubby has for smex (....don't ask - I don't). Last night I charged Nookie for at least 3 hrs according to the directions and by the time he was ready to go, it was kinda late, so I didn't break him in until today. Popped his cherry with Reborn in Blood by Stephani Hecht. Fabulous book, btw, and Steph's fab, too. Anyway, I'm loving Nookie and he fits so perfectly in my purse. I can take him with me everywhere! I foresee my 'read' pile growing at a much greater rate than usual now that I have Nookie.
Why the hell did I wait so long to get an ebook reader? sigh. Sometimes I make myself wonder about myself.
And you know what else is fitting? This pic I found of a nook features the first chapter from Pride and Prejudice, my fav of fav books. Ah - a true match made in heaven. The only thing that's kinda a bummer is that B&N's ebook store doesn't have a ton of m/m books. Only a limited selection. But that's OK. I prefer to buy direct from publishers and Nookie gets along just fine and dandy with .pdf files.
In other news, Shawn interviewed m/m author Andi Anderson on her blog. So pop on over to check out the interview if you have the time.
Congrats! Nookie looks so cool. It is awesome to have the convenience of slipping the Reader in your purse and always having a few hundred books to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI love my Baby and he's always with me. Although he was acting up yesterday again so I've got my fingers crossed that I won't soon have to get a new one.
LOL, my hubby also uses the word nookie. :)
You need a special skin for it now..come on..smex it up ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Hmm. Maybe Nookie would look even better in leather.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, go you!! I love mine, too!! Unfortunately, I haven't had much reading time lately with moving and all, but hopefully once we're settled I'll be loading up the Nook.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!
Wishing you many happy hours of Nookie. (My husband used to use that word for sex, too. When we were young.)
ReplyDeleteI like Chris's suggestion regarding the leather!
Your cookie is cute but it seems that a man that smooth shouldn't have armpit hair.
I love my Kindle, so I feel you, :D
ReplyDeleteBaby's acting up again, Lily? Oh no! :( I hope he gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteMandi - lol! You're totally tempting me to smex up Nookie with a pic of a very pretty guy ;)
Chris - Thanks! Nookie would look great in black leather. Would go very nice against his pale 'skin'. lol
Thanks, Barbara! Moving bites. I hope you get settled soon and can get back to reading.
Yeah, Wren, that armpit hair does seem kinda off considering the rest of him is so smooth. Not even a treasure line, and those red undies are riding pretty low in the front. But he looks really hot in those red undies, so I'll forgive the hairy pits. lol
Hey Shawn - Now that I have Nookie, I can't believe I waited this long to get a reader. He's so fun! :)
Congrats on getting Nookie!
ReplyDeleteMy ereader is Rosie; she's the pink/rose-colored Sony. I had to get her because she kind of matches my pink Dell. :)
Thanks, Eyre! Rosie sounds very pretty, too :)
ReplyDeleteMy laptop is shiny red and that's THE reason why I bought it. Because it was pretty and kinda girlie looking (hubby rolled his eyes and tried to get me to buy a black one, I ignored him). If they had had pink, I'd have been all over it. lol I don't consider myself super girlie, but sometimes I just can't resist.
Oh girlie, girlie!! Congratulations! 3 years on the laptop? Oh my! Your nookie sure is purty. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a Kindle and her name is Chastity D. Bauched. *g*
LMAO, FV!!! Love your kindle's name. I bet she's well and truly debauched by now. ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't help it,
ReplyDelete*croons* Here, nookie, nookie...
I got some nookie earlier! Oh, you were talking about a different type of nookie! LOL!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the NOOKIE!
Hey, no taunting Nookie, Devon! lol
ReplyDeleteAnd no bragging from you, Jack! ;) Though I will take your congrats, but it's more fitting for yesterday afternoon... *g*
Congrats on getting nookie, Ava. A little nookie is certainly a very good thing!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely, Zach ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Nookie! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations getting nookie! I wish I had nookie, too. Maybe if I tell my husband I want Nookie, he'll give it too me. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the congrats on Nookie, Shayne! And congrats right back at you *g*
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you ask for Andi, 'cause I have a feeling he'll definitely give it to you. ...not that it's a bad thing or anything ;)
Ava..
ReplyDeleteYou do realize that this post reads like smut...
Even the comments are on the dodgy side. Leather, popping cherry, smexing up...
I am so Jealous - I remember my first time - Fitzroy was so new and shiny and I did use him alot... very satisfying....
happy reading hon...
E.H>
Hey E.H. - Yeah....the post is a little smutty, but I just can't help it. Smutty is fun :D And given the comments, I have very good company in the shallow end of the smut pond. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh the shallow end - and the end where all the fun happens ..
ReplyDeleteI'll never leave the shallow end...
E.H>
Me either, E.H.!! You'd have to drag me out kicking and screaming :)
