Updates, Relocation, and Tight White Pants

Fortune Hunter is still coming along nicely. I have about 2 chapters left on the book. The end is in sight. But it's currently on hold for a few days. Got edits for Thief today. So I'm bouncing back to Benjamin and Cavin for a few days to do their edits, then I'll bounce back to Julian and Oscar to finish Fortune Hunter by the end of the month.

I put an except from My True Love Gave to Me on my website. If you want to check it out, it's HERE. It's from chapter 4, but no worries, there aren't any spoilers in it. Well, if you've read the blurb then there aren't any spoilers in it.

In other news, I have officially moved my office to the basement. I'm no longer the author under the cupboards in the garage. I had a couple incidents with little furry things while I was writing. I'd be sitting there, typing away, and hear a *rustle-rustle* then a flash of a little furry thing darting between the cars. Hubby had to be enlisted each time to 'clear' the garage. Usually involved me frantically calling the house from my cell phone while perched on my chair, and yelling at hubby that he needed to come out to the garage now!! For a while, I'd keep the garage door closed and bring Kitteh out with me while writing, but she was no use. Just meowed at the house door to go back inside. Then the other day, hubby went out to the garage and saw a little furry thing. And the garage door was closed at the time. Hubby said it was a chipmunk. They're kinda cute, still... I relocated. So now I'm just a boring author in the basement.

I was at Target the other day and they had a new boy barbie. I got all excited, for about 10 seconds. Then I realized he looked an awfully lot like Ken, and I left 'Nicholas' (aka Ken with combed back hair) on the shelf.

  1. I really can't blame you. That's a hot picture!

Woe that you are no longer the author-under-the-cupboards-in-the-garage. Are you able to be as productive in the basement?

  2. I know - total woe. I liked it in the garage, but I didn't like the little furry guests. So far I've been productive, but it's because I have looming deadlines - they kick my butt in gear faster than anything else.

I was very disappointed in Kitteh, though. I thought her kitty instincts would kick in and she'd prowl the garage while I wrote, keep it critter-free. Nope. She had no interest in being Super Kitty, Protector of the Garage. sigh.

  3. Mayhem works hard to keep the condo safe of teeny tiny bugs, plus she and Chaos have caught a mouse in here before, so she would've enjoyed your garage. :)

  4. YAY! I'm glad you're coming along very nicely with your current WIP. Sorry about having to move from the garage, but who knows...you might love it after you get used to it.
I can't wait to read your Christmas book! It's going to be great.
Have a critter free and great weekend:)

  5. Thanks, Andi!

So far, so good in the new office. And it will be warmer than the garage in the winter. That's a plus. :)

  6. Tight white pants and I was here in a nano-second. I don't even know who I was expecting to see in tight white pants. Apparently it doesn't matter as long as there are tight white pants.

A chipmunk? Oh. No. I draw the line at tiny brown mouse. I'm not kidding you, we're talking screaming and flinging myself around on furniture, never planning to touch the ground with my feet again. I'd have to move if there was a chipmunk in the garage. Just sayin'.

  7. *G* Of course, white pants are only really good when they're tight.

So you're a screamer/flinger? ....ok, that wasn't supposed to come off pervy, but somehow it does. ;) Anyway, it's good to know I'm not the only wimp when it comes to little furry things.

  8. Yes, a screamer and a flinger. Be jealous.

  9. Good luck with the WIP, and I hope the new office works out. I'd think the furry critters would just add ambiance. ;)

You should have gotten the dark-haired Ken. He might have inspired some sort of good twin-evil twin twincest story. LOL!

  10. Ambiance?!? Um...no. The muse is liking the new office much better than critter prone garage.

    Ken twincest stories - LOL!

  12. Well, he definitely deserves to be brought back ;) Thanks for letting me snag him.

I've been horrid about leaving comments lately too. I've read all your posts on GRL and basked in everyone's fun. Sounds like everyone had a blast!

  13. GRL was indeed a blast! Why weren't you there? I would've loved to meet you and given you my fangirl serenade. ;)

  14. Aw - thanks! And I would have loved to meet you too, but I was stuck under deadlines, typing away while you all were having loads of fun.
